Memorial service for Mrs. Noyola  Summitt Elementary and the Noyola family want to honor Mrs. Noyola with a memorial to the school, students, parents, staff, the Noyola family, and our community on Thursday April 10 at 4:30 pm in the Great Hall. Second Grade Musical  The 2nd graders will be performing the musical Swamped! on Thursday, April  10. There will be a performance for the school at 8:30 am and another performance at 6:30 pm for families and friends. We look forward to you seeing our musical on Thursday, April 10.

Rita’s Ice  Rita’s will be available after school on Friday, April 11 for $3/cup.

Bracelet & Bake Sale  A message from Girl Scout Troop #1446  - “We are making Rainbow Loom Bracelets and baked goods. It will be Monday, April 14 at 2:45 pm in front of Summitt. It is to get money for school supplies for our school.” Bracelets will be about $1-2 each and baked goods will be less than $1 each.

Summitt Family Night  Join Summitt families for family night at the McDonald's at Parmer and Metric (12433 Metric Blvd) on Tuesday, April 15, from 5-8 pm. They have a playground you can enjoy along with your dinner!

HEB Gift Cards  How many times have you been to HEB this week? If you shop at HEB it’s a great way to support the school without having to spend extra money. You buy them at face value and 4% goes back to the PTA. They make great gifts and are a highly requested donation item for charities. Email Kynna at anytime or they will be available for purchase in the Great Hall during drop off Friday April 11 and during pick up Monday April 14. Cards come in $25, $50, $100, & $200 denominations and can be purchased with cash or check only.

Third Grade News  Save your paper towel rolls! We are building rockets soon in our Science classes. We use paper towel rolls for the body tubes. Please send them in when you have an empty roll. We will place a box at the front of the school, or you may bring them to third grade.

Spring Fling  Would you like to see a show at the Paramount Theater? Or catch a Round Rock Express baseball game? How about a voucher for a weeklong Mad Science camp? Tickets for 4 to Schlitterbahn? These and many more items are up for auction at Spring Fling on Saturday, April 26 from 4-7 pm.

You can order Jason’s Deli meals for $7. The ticket order forms were sent out in this week’s Monday Folder. In addition to the silent auction, there will be a live auction, dance/Karaoke and Rita’s Ice ($3/cup). This is a family event, so all children must be accompanied by an adult. No drop-offs please.

Attendance Award  Congratulations to Ms. Tran's First grade and Ms. Farnsworth's First grade classes! They both won the March 2014 Attendance Award and celebrated with an ice cream cone party. Ms. Tran had 99.4% attendance and Ms. Farnsworth had 99.1% attendance!! Listed below are the attendance percentages for each class that submitted a March Calendar. PE News  Please mark your calendars for Hawaiian Field Day on Friday, May 9 and CATCH Family Fun Night on Wednesday, May 21. More information to come on these two events.

Advisory Council members needed  Summitt CAC is currently accepting applications for the 2014-2015 Summitt Campus Advisory Council. The goal of a CAC is to ensure that teachers, parents and community members have an active voice in local education matters by serving as an advisory council for our campus administrators. Our CAC meets once a month at 3pm in the school library for a 1 hour meeting. Anyone interested in serving as a parent, community or business representative can submit applications to Dedra Standish. Please turn in applications by April 14, 2014. The application can be found here Members for the 2014-2015 school year will be selected from all submitted applications. All CAC meetings are open to the public and our next meeting will be held on Monday April 28, 2014. Please contact Lesley Hernandez at with any questions.

Yearbook News  Please send in all pictures by April 14! Also, fifth grade parents—the yearbook needs a baby picture of your 5th grader! Please turn in a baby picture to their teacher or the front office with their name written on the back.  DO NOT send one of kind pictures- pictures will not be returned to you.

Community Egg Hunt  Join your local Walgreens for a community Easter Egg Hunt at Balcones Park on Amherst. It’s on Saturday, April 12 from 11-1 pm. There will be free hotdogs and games.There also will be a photo shoot with the Easter Bunny.

Budget meeting  AISD is holding a meeting about the preliminary budget on Wednesday, April 9 at McCallum High School Cafeteria, 5600 Sunshine Drive, 6:30 to 8:30 pm.

Another way to support Anderson’s Robotics Team  Shop at Zinger Hardware, 4001 N. Lamar Blvd. (between Central Market & the Heart Hospital) on Saturday, April 12 & Zinger will donate 10% of your purchase to the AHS Robotics Team (please present attached flyer at time of purchase). Please show them this flyer when you shop there. They have great toys, gifts, and household items for everyone at Zinger Hardware & General Merchant. Anderson Camps  There are many camps offered at Anderson High School this summer. Some of the camps offered are for sports, cheer, theater and robotics. A list of all the camps is here.

Tennis Camp  Taste of Tennis Camp is hosting a free camp on Saturday, April 19, from 3-5 pm for Juniors ages 5-15. More information is at

Pop Warner Football registration  Trojans Pop Warner's Fall 2014 season is now open! Please visit and click the Register Online link on the left. Registration is open through the end of May. Practices begin August 1st. It is OK if families will be out of town during portions of August- kids will be able to make up missed time and still enjoy a great season. Belles Summer Dance Camp  Save the Date! Come dance with the Anderson Trojan Belles at their 2014 BELLES SUMMER DANCE CAMP, July 21-24 at Anderson High School. Full day elementary aged campers will learn dances, participate in daily arts & crafts and game time, perform with the Belles, and more! Half day middle and high school campers learn more challenging dance routines, how the Belles practice and what it takes to be a Belle.
