April 23, 2014

Get ready for Spring Fling!  Spring Fling is on Saturday, April 26 from 4-7 pm. Here’s some helpful information about the event:

- Classroom creation baskets are on display in the Library. General bidding has begun. If you want to “Buy it Now,” that option will be available starting on Friday after school.
- During the year, Summitt only receives about 25 percent of the sales from other types of fundraisers; During Spring Fling, 100 percent of the sales goes to Summitt. Please bid generously.
- Speaking of being generous, if you win a basket or item during Spring Fling, any amount over the value of the item is tax deductible! If you pay $150 for a basket that’s valued at $100, then $50 is tax deductible. Let us know and we can give you the paperwork after Spring Fling.
- We still need volunteers for the event. The Doodad Sales table can be run by 5th-12th graders so we encourage 5th graders or any student who needs volunteer hours to help at that table. Sign up for that and all other positions on VolunteerSpot (no registration required): http://vols.pt/ZQisgA.
- Food tickets are on sale before and after school the rest of this week. Tickets purchased in advance are $7 each and include a box dinner from Jason's Deli (veggie and gluten-free options available).
- Want to know what will be available for bids on Saturday? Check out the Spring Fling page - there’s a list of donors on http://www.summitteagles.org/p/spring-fling_7.html.
- This is a family event - and all children must be accompanied by an adult. We'll gladly accept credit cards from auction winners! But bring cash to buy your Spring Fling Doodads, canned drinks, Rita's Italian Ice ($3) and Mystery Bags ($5)! This annual auction, dinner and school dance fundraiser supports the technology programs at the school. Need more info? Contact Diana George at springflingdonations@gmail.com.
